HaveFun Karaoke (Suntec City)

HaveFun at Suntec City hands out blankets, which sounds trivial until you have sat in a centrally-cooled karaoke room for three hours. It is a better answer than the temperature panel on the wall, which is there and does not actually change anything. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable.

The song system is quick to search across a Mandarin, English, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean and Malay catalogue, and there is a cheap weekday promotion with a free jug of soft drink attached. Food is the weakest part of the offer: the menu is long and the portions generous, but the quality is inconsistent enough that it is better treated as fuel than as dinner. Ordering is still done by pressing the call button and waiting for someone to come rather than from your phone, so factor that into a busy Saturday.

This is the room that fills with office groups and people already in Marina Centre for something else, and it is busy enough to be worth booking rather than walking into. If you have not used HaveFun’s song interface before, give yourself a few minutes at the start to find your way around it. It is on level 3 of the mall off Temasek Boulevard.
