Solace Studios (Jewel Changi Airport)

Solace Studios at Jewel is a self-photo studio you can use without a flight — Jewel sits outside immigration, so anyone can walk in from Changi Airport station and use it like any other mall. The sets play on where you are: a plane cabin and two different lift interiors among them.

You scan and pay at the booth yourself, then set the timer and shoot until the session runs out, with props to pick through before you start. The thing worth planning around is the free boarding pass machine, which only runs while staff are on site, roughly midday to eight in the evening. Turn up outside that window and it is switched off.

Check the time before you make the trip, because the staffing window matters more than it sounds: outside it there is nobody on the floor at all, so there is no one to ask if a booth misbehaves. It is not a cheap studio either, so pick one or two sets and do them properly rather than working through everything on offer. It is on level four, in the mall attached to Terminal 1.
