BFF Climb (Tampines Yoha)
BFF Climb at Tampines Yoha keeps climbing until quarter past three in the morning on Fridays and Saturdays. When everything else in Singapore has shut, this is the floor still open. It is a compact one — a square room with the rest area in the middle and somewhere between twenty and thirty problems set around it, enough variation to fill a couple of hours without repeating yourself.
Bouldering, top rope and auto belay are all here, and the harness comes with your entry rather than as an extra. On weekdays it is often close to empty, so the wall you want is the wall you get. Thursdays are the exception to everything: it does not open until the evening.
This is where adults climb rather than somewhere to bring a child for a lesson. Unlike the chain’s other two gyms it runs no guided sessions for children, though there is a kids zone on the floor and a pro shop if you snap a lace. There are no showers, which matters more than usual when you are climbing until three in the morning, so come in what you are happy to travel home in. It is on the third floor of the yo:HA building, six minutes’ walk from Tampines West station.
