Singapore Bowling @ Rifle Range

Singapore Bowling @ Rifle Range is the national team’s home alley, on the fourth floor of Temasek Club, and it is open to anyone rather than to members only. Thirty-eight lanes make it the largest bowling centre in the country.

What you notice is the surface. This is the Singapore Bowling Federation’s own centre, where the national squad trains and where national and international competitions are run, so the lanes are prepared and maintained to competition standard the whole year round. That is the reason to come: a world-class floor, bright and meticulously kept, and it plays like one. Bumper bowling is there for children of seven and under, and unit and corporate competitions are a regular fixture on the calendar.

Book ahead. Thirty-eight lanes does not mean thirty-eight free ones, and weekends and evenings fill up — walk-ins are taken, but a reservation is what gets you a lane at the time you wanted. Plan the journey too: Temasek Club runs a free shuttle from Beauty World station, picking up outside Beauty World Centre at the taxi stand and running through the day into the evening, and buses 52, 61, 77 and 174 stop at Jalan Anak Bukit opposite Bukit Timah Plaza.
