Five dollars gets you into the booth at Standard Photo Studio in Coronation Shopping Plaza. You set the timer yourself, crowd in, and keep shooting until you have frames worth keeping, then choose the ones you want and take the prints away with you.
The thing to know about here is the keychain printing: your photo pressed into a keychain that clips onto a schoolbag, rather than a strip that ends up forgotten in a wallet. That is priced separately, so ask at the counter — and there is someone to ask, because the same people run the Standard Photo shop next door.
If you are at school anywhere along Bukit Timah or Coronation Road, this is the easy stop on the way home, cheap enough that a few of you can take a round each and still have change left over. Come for a quick session rather than an afternoon, though: it is one booth, not a floor of themed rooms. And it keeps shop hours rather than mall hours, shutting earlier than you would expect and closed on Sundays, so straight after school is the time to catch it. It is on the second floor, about four minutes’ walk from Tan Kah Kee station.
