Standard Photo Studio (Bugis Street)

Open now Bugis $ Budget
Pixel-art illustration of three friends posing for the camera in the hawker-themed photo booth at Standard Photo Studio, chopsticks raised over a table of dim sum and old advertising posters covering the wall.

Standard Photo Studio is a self-photo booth on level 2 of Bugis Street, and what sets it apart is what you leave holding: photo strips plus keychains you make yourself.

Four themed booths sit alongside a DIY zone. The Hawker Room is done out with xiao long bao, durian and kopi; there is also a claw machine room, a spotlight room, and a plain box room for anyone who would rather the photograph did the talking. The basic package is around $10 for a few minutes of shooting, a strip, soft copies and two keychains, with unlimited beads to decorate them.

It suits teenagers and friend groups, and the keychain-making holds attention well after the photographs are done — which is why it reads as good value rather than merely cheap. Being inside Bugis Street it is surrounded by the rest of an afternoon. Its hours are shorter than most studios here, so it is worth checking before making a late plan.
