Where to play pinball machines in Singapore

Fewer than ten places in Singapore still have a pinball machine. Here are six: an arcade bar in Clarke Quay, four Timezone outlets, and one built for toddlers.

Here’s where to play pinball in Singapore. There are fewer than ten places left with a machine, and we list six of them: an arcade bar in Clarke Quay, four Timezone outlets, and a small arcade built for toddlers.

For a night out

Level Up — Bar & Arcade, Clarke Quay
Clarke Quay MRT · $$$ · to 1am, 3am Fridays and Saturdays

The best choice if you want pinball with a drink in your hand. Level Up is an arcade bar with retro cabinets, a full drinks list and a live band most nights, and your game tokens come with your drinks. The pinball sits alongside Metal Slug, Time Crisis, pool and darts.

It is mainly a bar for adults. Under-18s can come in with an adult from 5pm to 8pm, or all evening on Sundays. There is no entry charge, and it is two minutes from the station.

At Timezone

Timezone is the chain most likely to have one, but its machines move around. Pinball has been on the floor at Waterway Point, Plaza Singapura, VivoCity and Orchard Xchange, and the chain moves its tables between outlets rather than keeping one in each.

So treat that list as a starting point. A machine at Waterway Point last month may be at VivoCity this month, or away for repairs, and an outlet not on the list may have one by now. If you are going just for the pinball, phone the outlet first and ask.

If you are going anyway, pick Orchard Xchange. It is the biggest arcade in Singapore, with about 160 games, so there is plenty else to play if the pinball has gone.

For toddlers

HopHop Bunny, Marina Square
Esplanade or Promenade MRT · $ · daily 10am–10pm

A small, pink-themed arcade on level 3, full of gachapon machines and mini pinball sized and priced for small children. It is made for toddlers and pre-schoolers, who get to put a coin in, play the machine themselves and leave with something. Older children will be done with it in ten minutes.

Why so few?

Pinball machines are expensive to buy and hard to keep running. A real table has thousands of moving parts — flippers, ramps, switches, coils — being hit by a steel ball all day, and it breaks down far more often than a video game does. It needs someone on staff who can fix it.

That is why arcades retire them, and why Singapore’s only pinball bar, with eight machines in the basement of Sim Lim Square, closed in 2023.

Seen one? Tell us

Pinball machines move around more than anything else in an arcade, so no list stays right for long, including ours.

If you’ve seen a pinball machine somewhere recently, go to that venue’s listing, open the “Something wrong with this listing?” panel at the bottom, pick A detail here is wrong, and tell us what you saw. It takes about twenty seconds, and we check it and update the list. There’s more on how that works on our Corrections page.

Machines move and prices change — confirm with the venue before travelling, especially at Timezone. If something on one of our listings is out of date, there’s a form at the bottom of every one.
