Timezone Waterway Point is the Punggol arcade, on level 2 of the mall’s West Wing, in a considerably bigger space than the basement unit it replaced a couple of years ago.
The standout is Asphalt 9 Legends, a racing game on a motion base that moves with the track rather than only showing it — regulars rate it above the fixed cabinets elsewhere in the chain. Around it sit the usual arcade and redemption games, dance and drum machines, and a long stretch of claw machines. Tickets go to the prize shop. There is no bowling here and there are no bumper cars.
It is one of the better outlets in the chain for a children’s birthday: the party rooms come with a fridge for the cake and drinks, and a host runs the session. Visitors mention those hosts more often than they mention any of the games, and they mention how clean and roomy the place is — both fair enough after the move upstairs. It suits families in the north-east who would otherwise cross the island for an afternoon. Weekends and school holidays are busiest.
