SuperBowl Jurong has level lanes with no steps up to them and room between the seating for a pram or a wheelchair, which is rarer in a bowling alley than it should be. Thirty lanes run across a well-lit floor, the surfaces are properly oiled, and a ball hooks the way you expect rather than sliding straight through.
It is a traditional alley run properly rather than a themed night out. League nights bring regular bowlers in during the week, there is an arcade corner for children who lose interest after two games, and an eatery for hot drinks and snacks. Thirty lanes also means a group is rarely turned away, and walk-ins are usually fine — a phone call before you set off will confirm it.
The building is a standalone centre by Jurong Lake rather than a mall unit, with a supermarket and a food court under the same roof, so a bowling trip absorbs the shopping. Cardholders pay less than walk-ins. The counter is functional rather than warm and the music is not to everyone’s taste, but neither affects the bowling. It is a bus or a drive from Lakeside station rather than a walk, which is the trade for the parking and the space.
