Mirror Jing in Serangoon runs jubensha — script murder — which is a different thing from an escape room despite sitting in the same category.
Everyone takes a character from a written script, and the group talks, accuses and reasons its way to who did it, guided by a game master and supported by NPCs. Sessions run long: around five hours is normal, rather than the sixty minutes an escape room takes. The scripts range across straight murder mysteries, emotional stories and heavier twist-led plots, and the venue keeps a selection rather than one fixed game.
Games are played mainly in Mandarin, so this suits Chinese-speaking groups; anyone expecting an English-language escape room will be in the wrong place. It works for beginners as well as regulars — the game master carries new players through. Booking is usually arranged over WeChat or Xiaohongshu rather than a website, which is normal for jubensha here.
