K Bowling Club (313@Somerset)

Open now Orchard $$ Mid-range

K Bowling Club on level 3 of 313@Somerset is bowling as a night out rather than a sport — twelve lanes under neon, with music videos on big screens and the lights down.

The bowling is only part of it. There is a bar, pool tables, darts and karaoke booths in the same room, which means a group that gets bored of bowling does not have to leave. Lanes are charged per person by time slot rather than per game, and evenings cost more than afternoons. It runs past midnight, later at weekends.

It suits friend groups, dates and office nights out far more than families with young children — the volume and the lighting are the point. It is the most central bowling alley in Singapore, directly above Somerset station, and it books up: reserve a lane rather than turning up, particularly on a Friday.

The pink button on this page comes in cheaper than the counter.
