HaveFun Karaoke (SAFRA Toa Payoh)

HaveFun at SAFRA Toa Payoh is a karaoke room you can walk into on your own. Alongside the private rooms there is an open mic area, a communal space where people take turns at the microphone in front of whoever is in, plus live band nights. That is the difference between booking a room for eight and coming down alone on a weekday evening to sing two songs, and people do the latter here.

There are darts and a pool table for anyone who wants a break between turns, which most karaoke venues do not bother with. The rooms themselves are the standard ones: free-flow soft drinks with the packages, a multilingual catalogue, and food that is decent for somewhere that is not a restaurant. The place is notably consistent — come back after a year and it is unchanged, which in this category is a compliment.

Drinks are where it gets expensive, so the soft-drink packages are better value than a round at the bar. Friday afternoons are quiet enough to walk in without booking. It is on level 2 of the clubhouse on Lorong 6.
