Forte Bowl in Hougang has twenty Brunswick lanes under ultraviolet lighting, inside a sports and entertainment centre that also holds an arcade, a cafe and a gym.
The arcade is unusually large for a bowling alley — more than sixty machines — which changes what a visit looks like: children who lose interest after two games have somewhere to go, and a group can split without leaving. There is a pro shop for anyone who bowls seriously, and the lanes are kept oiled. Games are a few dollars, cheaper for students under 21.
Reviews are consistent that the lanes and equipment are in good order, and less consistent about the counter service when something goes wrong with a lane. Hougang station is a short bus ride away.
