Climb Central (Funan)

Climb Central at Funan is a full-height climbing gym in the basement of Funan mall, with more than two hundred routes across lead, top-rope, auto-belay and bouldering walls.

The range is what separates it from the bouldering-only gyms that make up most of this category: you can start on an auto-belay with nobody holding your rope, move to top-rope with a partner, and progress to lead climbing in the same building. Routes span the full grade span and are reset regularly. A first-timer package covers entry and all the equipment, so there is nothing to buy before you arrive.

It suits beginners and families particularly well, because a group of mixed ability is not stuck on the same wall. Being right in the middle of the popular Funan mall makes it one of the easiest gyms in Singapore to reach. If you want the chain’s tallest wall, that is at its Kallang branch rather than here — but Funan has the wider spread of climbing styles.
