BLANK BOX SG (Mandai)

BLANK BOX is a self-photo studio in Mandai Connection, open around the clock and built for pets as much as for people.

The space is a studio rather than a booth: four coloured backdrops — yellow, pink, brown and green — with dressing rooms to change in and props laid out to use. A fifteen-minute session takes up to five, animals included, and you leave with every digital copy from the session rather than a chosen few. Extra people can be added for a small top-up.

It suits pet owners above all, since the room to move and the dressing rooms are what make a shoot with a dog workable rather than chaotic, and groups who want space instead of a cubicle. Mandai is the catch: this is an industrial building in the north rather than a mall unit, so it is a drive or a bus rather than a walk from a station. Being open 24 hours takes some of the sting out of the journey.
