Sing My Song Family Karaoke (Kinex)
Sing My Song Family Karaoke is on level three at Kinex, and it works two ways. There is a shared hall where people take turns singing to the room, and there are private rooms for anyone who would rather not.
The hall is the part people come back for. You take a table, put your songs in, and get a turn on a small stage with a standing microphone while everyone else listens. There are clappers on the tables and people use them — strangers cheer each other through, and tables end up singing along with whoever is up. The private rooms are what makes it worth bringing family who would find all that mortifying, and they run on the same song system, kept current down to recent Douyin tracks, with a QR code to log in rather than WeChat. If you have never used a Chinese song system, ask — the staff will walk you through it.
Come in the evening if the hall is the reason you are going, because that is when there is a room to play to. There is a flat-rate afternoon session if you would rather sing to a quieter one, and the kitchen turns out fried snacks that hold up better than they need to. Bring people who will actually sing — the hall runs on everyone taking a turn.
