Teo Heng KTV (Changi Airport Terminal 3)

Teo Heng at Changi Airport is two floors below the departure hall of Terminal 3, in the public basement rather than past security — you do not need a boarding pass to sing here.

It is the smallest configuration in the chain: four-seat and six-seat rooms only, at $13 and $15 an hour before 7pm, $19 and $22 after, GST included. That suits what it is used for, which is a couple of hours before a late flight, a group killing time on a delay, or families from the east treating the airport as a destination in itself. Birthday discounts are offered. Open to 1am, and 2am on Saturdays and holiday eves.

This is the most consistently praised outlet in the chain, and the staff are why. They are known by name to regulars and are notably good with people trying karaoke for the first time, which makes this the least intimidating room in Singapore to start in. No large groups, though: six is the ceiling.
