Boulder Movement (Bugis)

Open now Bugis $$ Mid-range
Pixel-art illustration of two climbers on facing bouldering walls at Boulder Movement Bugis while a third watches from the mats, the gym name painted across the wall between them.

Boulder Movement’s Bugis gym is on the fifth floor of Bugis+, one of four outlets from a bouldering-only operator.

Bouldering means no ropes, no harnesses and no partner: the walls are low, the landings are matted, and you turn up alone if you like. The walls here are built around features climbers seek out rather than a plain spread — a boulder island, a traverse wall, a four-sided arete, a moon board and a thirty-degree mystery-grade wall, where the grades are hidden so you climb what is in front of you instead of what the label says. Entry is $35, or $20 off peak on weekday afternoons, dropping to about $22 a visit in a ten-pass bundle. Shoes are $5 to hire and free on a first visit. Weekdays run as two booked sessions, 11am to 4:30pm and 5:30pm to 10pm, with an hour’s changeover between them.

The training features make it the outlet to pick if you already climb and want to work at something specific, though the operator rates it for all levels. For a first session the slab walls at Tai Seng are the gentler start, and Rochor is the larger space. Bugis station is directly below.
