How the Timezone Powercard Works

How the Timezone Powercard works in Singapore - the colour-coded readers, e-tickets and prize shop, the membership tiers, and what keeps a card active.

Here’s how the Timezone Powercard works in Singapore: what the coloured card readers mean, how e-tickets and the prize shop work, what each membership tier gets you, and how to keep a card from expiring.

You can use the card without knowing any of this, but the free games, birthday credit and reload bonuses only come to people who know how to claim them.

Find your nearest Timezone β†’

The card itself

You buy a Powercard in store β€” a minimum $10 load gets you a Welcome card. It works at every Timezone outlet in Singapore, so there’s no reason to hold more than one.

You check your balance at the in-store kiosks, at the counter, or in the app.

Register your card

This is the most useful thing you can do, and it takes two minutes, online or on the iPad at the counter.

A registered card is protected. Lose an unregistered one and the balance goes with it. A registered card can be blocked and reissued with your game credits and e-tickets moved across, provided nobody’s found it and spent it first. There’s a small replacement fee β€” check the current amount at the counter.

You also need a registered card to get any of the rewards below.

The colour-coded readers

Each machine has a coloured card reader, and the colour tells you what kind of game it is β€” and what it costs.

  • 🟒 Green β€” standard video games. Halo, Luigi’s Mansion Arcade, Maximum Tune 6, that sort of thing.
  • 🟑 Yellow β€” standard video and non-video games. Air hockey, pinball, kiddie rides.
  • πŸ”΄ Red β€” ticket games. Down the Clown, Let’s Bounce, and the rest of the redemption machines.

Attractions like bowling, bumper cars and VR sit outside this and are priced separately.

Each colour costs a different amount, and when a party package or promotion says “unlimited green, yellow and red”, it means those games only. Attractions always cost extra.

e-Tickets and the Prize Shop

Play the red-reader ticket games and you win e-Tickets, which are stored on your card instead of printed on paper. When you have enough, take the card to the Prize Shop and swap them for a prize.

If your child wants a particular prize, check how many tickets it costs before you start playing.

Two things worth knowing: claw machine prizes can’t be exchanged for something else once won. And e-tickets follow the same validity rules as the rest of the card β€” more on that next.

Keeping your card active

Your card, game credits and e-tickets stay valid for 12 months from your last transaction.

Any use resets the clock for another full year β€” a game, a redemption, a top-up, even just tapping the card on a reader.

So if you have an old Powercard at home, take it with you next time and tap it on a reader. That keeps whatever is on it for another twelve months.

The membership ladder

Four tiers, climbed by cumulative spend:

TierThreshold
Welcome$10 minimum load
Blue Elite$200 cumulative
Gold$1,000 cumulative
Platinum$5,000 cumulative

Cumulative spend means net load β€” the money you actually put in. Bonus credits from double-dollar promotions don’t count towards it, and neither do party packages. Load $20 on a double-dollar deal and you get $40 of credit but only $20 towards your tier.

A family that visits regularly can reach Blue Elite at $200 fairly quickly, and it is the tier that unlocks the party discount.

What the tiers get you

A one-off bonus when you reach each tier. Blue Elite: $20 credits plus 500 e-tickets. Gold: $100 plus 2,000 e-tickets. Platinum: $500 plus 10,000 e-tickets.

Mid-tier bonuses along the way. $20 at $700 cumulative spend, $50 at $2,000, $100 at $3,500. Platinum members get $100 plus 2,000 e-tickets with every $1,000 reloaded.

Discounted game plays β€” “Super Discount” at Blue Elite and Gold, “Mega Discount” at Platinum. Timezone doesn’t publish the percentages.

Birthday credit, delivered to the Fun App on the first day of your birthday month: $10 for Welcome and Blue Elite, $20 for Gold, $50 for Platinum. Valid 31 days from issue, no extensions. One per account, based on your highest-tier card.

Daily free games for Gold and Platinum β€” a voucher arriving in the app before 10am every day. Gold gets one free game or attraction, Platinum two. It’s day-of-issue only, doesn’t roll over, and screenshots aren’t accepted β€” you present the live voucher. Once redeemed, the free games apply to the first games you play at that venue, so play the expensive thing first.

A weekly free drink for Platinum, issued every Friday and valid seven days.

Party package discounts, once a calendar year: Blue Elite 10%, Gold 15%, Platinum 20% β€” up to $130 off. Enter the first nine digits of your Powercard number in the promo code field. This is the most valuable benefit, and it only applies to the Ultimate, Extreme and Epic packages.

One catch across all of these: your card must have had a transaction in the last 12 months to be considered active. An expired card receives no vouchers at all.

What’s changing for Gold and Platinum in 2027

From 1 January 2027, Gold and Platinum benefits come with an annual reload requirement: $500 a year to keep Gold perks, $1,000 a year to keep Platinum. Tiers were previously permanent once earned.

Because the rule arrives mid-year, 2026 gets a half-price transition:

  • Gold β€” reload $250 by 31 December 2026
  • Platinum β€” reload $500 by 31 December 2026

Miss it and your card isn’t downgraded, but the benefits stop: the daily free games, the tier bonuses, the enhanced birthday credit, and Platinum’s weekly drink. Existing game credits and e-tickets are unaffected and stay yours under the normal validity rules. You can requalify later by meeting the reload requirement.

If you tiered up during 2026, you’re exempt from the requirement this year and keep your benefits through 2027.

Timezone says it is emailing affected members every month from June to December with their progress. If you are Gold or Platinum, check your spend now rather than in late December.

In return, from 2027 the birthday credit rises to $30 for Gold and $60 for Platinum, and Platinum’s tier bonus becomes $100 plus 5,000 e-tickets per $1,000 reloaded.

Six ways to get more play per dollar

  1. Top up during promotions. Reload deals come round regularly, such as National Day, school holidays and partner offers. The bonus credit doesn’t count towards your tier, but it is still free games.
  2. Register the card the day you buy it. It is free and takes two minutes.
  3. Get the Fun App. Every reward above is delivered through it.
  4. Tap old cards to keep them active. Any transaction resets the 12-month clock.
  5. Use as few cards as possible. It is easier to keep track, and all your spending counts towards one tier instead of three. Note that cards can’t be transferred between accounts.
  6. Use your member discount on party bookings β€” up to $130 off.

Two rules to plan around

Under Ministry of Home Affairs rules, under-16s can only enter an arcade on a school day between 6.30pm and midnight. This applies to every arcade in Singapore, not just Timezone.

And no school uniforms, or any part of one, including school T-shirts, at any time.

If you are already Gold or Platinum, check your 2026 reload total before December so you keep your benefits in 2027.

Rules, tiers and rewards change β€” confirm current details with Timezone before relying on any of this. If something on one of our listings is out of date, there’s a form at the bottom of every one.
