Axe Factor (Sentosa)

Axe Factor is a coached axe-throwing range at Mess Hall on Sentosa, set in one of the old colonial military buildings on Gunner Lane.

Six lanes run under supervision — a coach takes you through grip, stance and the safety rules before anyone throws, which is what makes it workable for people who have never held an axe. Sessions run one or two hours and are booked by the group rather than by the lane, so it is a shared activity rather than a queue. Mess Hall itself is a food and drink complex, so there is somewhere to sit before and after without leaving the building.

It suits friend groups, couples and company outings, and the minimum age is fifteen, which rules it out as a family activity with younger children. The competitive edge appears faster than most people expect. Sentosa is the trip to plan around: it is a walk or a short ride from Beach Station.
