Urth&Phire is a ceramics studio in the Kapo Factory Building on Playfair Road near Tai Seng, founded by a Singaporean ceramic artist and set up for people who want to keep going rather than try it once.
A ninety-minute trial gets you onto the wheel to see whether it suits you. Beyond that sits a six-session beginner wheel course, and the studio also teaches hand-building, which several of the wheel-focused places treat as an afterthought. Classes cap at three students per instructor. Courses have no fixed start dates, so you pick when to begin rather than waiting for a term to come round.
That combination — small classes, an open start date and a real course structure — makes it the choice for someone who suspects they will want a second and third session. It suits couples, small groups and corporate bookings. Playfair Road is an industrial estate rather than a high street, so it is a short walk from Tai Seng station past loading bays.
