Motion Art Space on Arab Street is not an art jamming studio in the usual sense — you paint using pendulums and spinning canvases rather than a brush.
A squeeze bottle of paint hangs from a pendulum above your canvas; you lift it, let go, and gravity draws the line. The tables spin, so the canvas moves under the falling paint and the pattern builds itself. It is closer to a physics demonstration than a painting class, and it means someone who cannot draw at all leaves with something they are pleased with. Materials and equipment are included, and sessions run by booking rather than walk-in.
It suits families with children, and groups where at least one person insists they are not artistic. Prices sit above a standard art jam, which is the trade for the equipment. It is on the second floor on Arab Street, so look up for the sign rather than along the shopfronts.
The pink button on this page is the cheaper way to book a session.
