VR+ZONE (The Centrepoint)

Closed right now Orchard $$ Mid-range
Pixel-art illustration of two players in VR headsets aiming their controllers inside the blue-lit VR Zone at The Centrepoint.

VR+ZONE charges by the game rather than by the hour, which makes it the cheapest way to try virtual reality on Orchard Road — one ten-minute game and out, rather than committing to an afternoon. Around sixteen titles are on the menu, split between shooting games, racing, casual titles like Fruit Ninja, and a gatling gun game.

The VR escape rooms are priced separately and run longer. Set against the dedicated escape operators they are pitched light, and against the rest of this venue they are expensive, so they are the part to decide on deliberately rather than default into.

Go in expecting a compact arcade rather than a production. It is a small floor, headsets take a few minutes to set up between players, and staff run the counter rather than acting as a game master once you are inside. As a cheap first taste of VR while you are already on Orchard Road it does the job, and for one game with a child in tow it is the easiest stop on the road. It is on level 4 of The Centrepoint, a few minutes from Somerset station, and the same operator runs a second floor at Eastpoint Mall in Simei.
