Solace Studios at VivoCity is a self-photo studio on level 2 of the mall, and it stays open until 3am — later than any other branch in the chain and later than almost anything else of its kind here.
The booths are themed rather than plain white: a subway carriage, a lift interior and a laundromat washing machine among them, so the backdrop does some of the work before anyone poses. You run the timer yourselves, retake as often as you like inside the session, then pick the frames at a screen afterwards. Prints start around $10, props and styling tools — hair dryers, straighteners — are free to use, and nothing needs booking.
The late closing is the thing to use: come once the cinema crowd has thinned and you can take the booth at your own pace. Weekends are busy and there is no reservation system, so off-peak means less waiting. Bring a change of outfit if the photos matter — the styling counters are set up for exactly that.
