Jewel Music Box at SAFRA Jurong is a karaoke studio on the third floor of the clubhouse on Boon Lay Way, a few minutes from Boon Lay station and the only branch of the chain in the west.

You take a room as a three-hour block, and the free-flow hot and cold drinks and snacks come with it rather than landing on a bill at the end. The rooms carry board games, dart boards and drinking table games as well as the sound system, so a booking still works for a group with no intention of singing for three straight hours. The VIP rooms are what this outlet is really set up for, and SAFRA members take a percentage off them — though only against a minimum spend, so it pays off for a genuinely large group and nobody else.

Come with numbers. This is the room for a company gathering, a class celebration or a family occasion that would never fit inside a mall karaoke booth, and a small group in an ordinary room pays the same whether anyone is holding a SAFRA card or not. Outside food and drink are not allowed and corkage applies to anything you bring in, so eat before or after rather than during. The online system takes bookings from four people upwards; a pair or a trio has to phone the outlet.
