Climba Gym (Robinson Road)
Climba is a bouldering gym on the fifth floor of an office building on Robinson Road, in the middle of the CBD, with about 3,200 square feet of wall.
The walls are named and each has a job: Nori is a gentle slab, Gohan carries the beginner routes, Ikura changes profile as you go up, and Furikake is a 40-degree overhang for people who want to be humbled. There is also a grasshopper board, which no other gym here has. Alongside the climbing sits a proper strength area with power racks, kettlebells and plyo boxes, plus showers, a lounge and a physiotherapy room — entry includes a free physio session once a month.
It suits office workers more than anyone else, and the lunchtime pass between noon and 2pm on weekdays is priced for exactly that. Beginners are well served by Gohan and the guided classes. It is smaller than the warehouse gyms, so it trades floor space for angles — you will not run out of things to try, but you will see the same walls more often.
