Boulder Movement Rochor is the largest gym in the chain, on the second floor of Tekka Place between Rochor and Little India stations.
It is bouldering only — low walls, matted landings, no ropes or harnesses and nothing to arrange with a partner beforehand. The size buys a genuinely even spread of grades and climbing styles rather than a room that suits one kind of climber, and alongside the walls there is an adjustable kilter board, an endurance wall, separate training walls and an exercise area. It also has a lounge with co-working tables, which is unusual here: people work between climbs rather than leaving. Entry is $35, or $20 off peak on weekday afternoons, and a ten-pass bundle brings that to about $22 a visit. Shoes cost $5, free on a first visit. Weekdays run as two booked sessions, 11am to 4:30pm and 5:30pm to 10pm, with an hour’s changeover.
The space is the reason to choose it: on a busy evening the smaller outlets queue for problems and this one absorbs it. It suits a group of mixed ability better than Bugis, whose walls lean towards training, and the co-working tables make it the one you can spend an afternoon in.
