Amazonia at Great World is Singapore’s longest-running indoor playground, and since a refit it has been done out as an Arctic scene of ice, snow and polar animals rather than the jungle its name suggests.
The signature is a four-tier wave slide billed as the highest indoor slide in the country, and it is genuinely steep enough to make an adult hesitate. Around it are trampolines, a large ball pit, basketball hoops, a nine-metre interactive video wall and a separate toddler playground for the under-threes. There is a bistro attached, so a parent can sit with a coffee in sight of the slide.
It suits children roughly three to twelve, and the age spread it handles is wider than most. Prices sit at the higher end for this category. Great World station is directly below the mall, which makes it one of the easier playgrounds to reach without a car.
