SkyHelix Sentosa is an open-air gondola at Imbiah Lookout that lifts you 79 metres above sea level with nothing under your feet — the highest open-air ride in Singapore, where you sit with your legs in the breeze rather than behind glass.
The gondola climbs, then holds near the top and turns slowly for most of the twelve minutes, so you get all 360 degrees without moving: Sentosa below, the skyline across the water, the Southern Islands out to sea. Sixteen people ride at once, with a host who names what you are looking at and takes the photograph you cannot take yourself. Your ticket includes a cold non-alcoholic drink or a souvenir, claimed at the snack bar before you board. It is also Sentosa’s first carbon-neutral attraction: a year of it, carrying a hundred thousand people, costs roughly the carbon of one flight to Kuala Lumpur.
Nothing loose comes up — no bags, hats or umbrellas — so travel light. You must be at least 1.05 metres tall; children under 1.2 metres or under thirteen ride with an adult. Skip it if heights or motion make you uneasy: this is fully open, with nothing to look away into. Boarding closes well before the advertised closing, so do not leave it late.
Discounted tickets for the SkyHelix are available on Klook, via the pink button on this page.
