QQ Cats & Cafe (Balestier)
QQ Cats & Cafe on Balestier Road runs over two floors: a grooming spa and pet supplies shop downstairs, and upstairs a cafe with around ten resident cats roaming it.
The food is what separates it from the rest of the category. Most cat cafes serve a drink and a biscuit; this one has a proper kitchen turning out British pies made with ingredients flown in, alongside pasta and wraps, and it is the only cat cafe in Singapore licensed to serve alcohol. The cats work in rotation rather than being on the floor all day, which is better for them and means the ones you meet are the ones who want to be there.
It suits people who want lunch as well as cats, and families — children from about three are welcome with an adult. Reserve rather than walking in; the wait can run past half an hour at busy times. Balestier is a bus ride from Novena rather than a walk from a station.
