Snow City Singapore

Snow City is an indoor snow centre in Jurong East, next to the Science Centre, kept at about minus five degrees. It is the only place in Singapore where you can play in real snow, and the jacket and boots come with the ticket.

The main run is the Glacier Luge, a snow slope about three storeys high that you come down on a tube. Alongside it are Drift On Ice, bumper cars on an ice rink, and The Cliff, an indoor climbing wall in the same building worked with an instructor. The rest of the chamber is open snow to walk around and throw at each other.

Families with young children are the main audience, though the luge is steep enough to hold a teenager’s attention. A few rules are worth knowing before you leave home: long trousers are required, leather-soled shoes are not allowed, and children under seven need an adult with them. The ice bumper cars start at 0.9 metres. Everything warm is provided, so there is nothing to hire and nothing to buy on the way.
