Mochiart is an art jamming studio on the seventh floor of Prosper House in Geylang, and it takes far bigger groups than most — up to around sixty-five people in one session.
What you paint is the other difference: canvas is only the starting point, and sessions also run on tote bags, t-shirts and leather sneakers, with textured and mosaic work alongside. A pair of shoes takes about two hours. Snacks and drinks are free-flow and included, and returning visitors get a discount on later sessions.
The capacity and the range make it a corporate and team-bonding venue as much as a weekend activity — it is one of the few studios here that can take a whole department without splitting it in two. It suits groups, birthdays and anyone who would rather leave with something wearable than with a canvas to find a wall for. It is a few minutes’ walk from Aljunied station, in an industrial building rather than a mall.
