Outpost Climbing (Crawford Lane)
Outpost Climbing on Crawford Lane is really two gyms in one building: a family fun zone on the ground floor and a serious climbing floor above it.
The Fun Zone runs close to thirty themed high-wall lanes — a wall built from giant Lego bricks, a climbable snakes and ladders board, augmented-reality panels — with a low boulder wall for smaller children. Level 3 is the Climb Zone, where the bouldering and the harder high walls live, along with an adjustable spray wall for training. Across both, there are more than forty high-wall lanes, which is a lot for a gym this central.
The split is what makes it work: a family can put young children on themed lanes downstairs while an experienced climber trains upstairs, and neither is compromising. It suits birthdays and mixed-age groups particularly well. Lavender is the nearest station at eight to ten minutes’ walk, so it is a short walk rather than a doorstep arrival.
