Kulnari Mystery Golf is an indoor eighteen-hole mini golf course in a Circular Road shophouse, built as a 1920s murder mystery you putt your way through.
The holes run through alleyways, teahouses and crime scenes, with clues planted along the course, so you are solving a story as much as playing golf — closer to a light escape room than to a putting green. One hole has a revolving obstacle that defeats most people. The Ninth Hole Bar sits partway round and serves themed cocktails, which is unusual for mini golf and rather the point. Most groups take about forty-five minutes.
It suits couples and small groups on a night out in Boat Quay rather than families with young children. Worth knowing before booking: it costs more than a straightforward mini golf round, and reviews split on whether the mystery justifies it — some find the story absorbing, others find it thin and the price steep. Go for the setting and the cocktails and you will not be disappointed; go expecting a full escape room and you might be.
